Classic Baby Organics Story: Genuine ethical & environmental G.O.T.S cotton products

global organic textile standard

We believe all children deserve to grow up happy and healthy and that includes children in other parts of the world. That is why all of our organic cotton is GOTS certified. This certification applies to all of our products and what this means:

  • child labour is not used in the manufacturing of any of the materials.

  • fair working conditions for employees who work in the factories and produce the materials used in our clothing.

  • protection to the environment, as it ensure that any water that is used in the manufacturing process is cleaned before going back in the rivers and environment.

Organic Cotton allows farmers to be sustainable and reuse their cotton seeds, allowing them some control on how to grow their crops. This is so much better than Genetically Modified cotton that requires certain pesticides to grow, that are expensive as well as causing serious ill health to the farmers. The GMO cotton seed that is patented and so needed to be purchased to plant for each season at a high cost. Some farmers have not been able to keep up with the high cost and very sadly resulted in farmers loosing their land to these companies. This land has been with the family for generations and sadly resulted in over 200,000 farmers deaths by suicide.

Why Choose Organic Cotton

Multiple studies have shown that many chemicals used in the textile industry can cause illness, allergies, and even cancers. By working with certified organic growers and manufacturers, we aim to protect our children, the workers and the environment.  It would be great if one day we could declare that all clothing and textile products in the world were created without using any harmful chemicals!

We are all continually learning about the environment around us, and becoming more able to make conscious decisions about the products we buy.

Did you know that 100’s of thousand’s of India farmers have committed suicide? Why? Due to the high financial pressures of having to buy pesticides and the seeds every year. This is due to companies being able to put patents on seeds! If these costs are not met then their land can then be taken off them. This makes them a disgrace to their family that they cannot live with! With organic cotton, farmers are able to be sustainable and not suffer these high costs

We have created Classic Baby Organics organic baby and children's range as a small step towards making the world a better, healthier place for ourselves, our children and future generations.
